Luxury candles add a serene, almost intimate atmosphere in every setting. You can easily buy these candles online or in home decoration and craft stores but why spend a lot of money for these designer candles when you can simply make them at home? This way, you can customize these luxury candles according to your preferences.
The first step in making these scented luxury candles is to gather all the materials that you are going to need, such as wax, liquid dye, fragrance, and waxed paper. Melt the wax first and let it cool down a bit before you add the dye and the scent. Do not leave the wax unattended while you are melting it. For you to be able to gauge if you have the proper temperature of 160 degrees, you will need a thermometer to check it. Once your wax has reached the desired temperature, you can pour it into your molds.
When adding fragrance to your designer candles, remember that you do not need a lot of it in order to make your candles smell good. Just add one ounce of fragrance to every pound of melted wax. Stir the fragrance into the melted wax, making sure you mix them thoroughly.
The next step is for you to add color to your luxury candles. Again, you dont need too much liquid dye to create color in your candles. Just adding one drop of it will be enough. Remember to stir the mixture thoroughly so that the color and the fragrance become evenly distributed.
To check the color of the candle, test it onto a piece of waxed paper. Just scoop a small amount of your mixture and pour it onto a piece of waxed paper. Let it cool and harden for about a minute. The result of this test will give you an idea of what the color of your designer candles will be.
If you like the pastel shade that your luxury candles have, then one drop of liquid dye will already do. However, if you want to have a darker shade, you can add more drops of liquid dye until you get your desired color. Now, doesnt this beat buying candles online?
